A SUNY Potsdam professor thinks he has the answer: Dr. George Gonos, during a forum on [the SUNY Potsdam]campus about the economy last night, said the trend that began in the 1950’s of decreasing union-based checks on management to deliver living wages for its employees has led to a national decline in purchasing power.
